ABOUT YOUR
Guide
Jonathan has a wonderful relationship with the team of India Personal Tours and has led many tours and retreats in different parts of the world. He specialises in creating an inner journey of discovery as much as an outer adventure. With 25 years of experience supporting people in their journey of discovery, healing and well-being, Jonathan brings care, thoughtfulness and humour to this unforgettable adventure.

Your first day is all about a smooth arrival in Jaipur: you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel in the city centre. Those who arrive in Delhi can also plan to go to Agra on same day trip by train. Extensions available at extra cost.
In the evening we will get introduced by our tour guide and bikes. Our tour guide will brief about the itinerary and give you valuable
suggestions on how to navigate on Indian roads. (From Delhi you can reach Jaipur by train, taxi or flight, let us know if you want us to arrange this for you)

After breakfast, our Indian adventure begins. Ride to Sambhar Salt Lake. Ride through small villages and beautiful countryside. The landscape is rustic and you will see men wearing colourful turbans every few kilometres. After arriving in Sambhar via a variety of roads we head to the lake, which is India's largest Salt Lake and offers dazzling white lustres as well as an amazing variety of bird life. Continue ride to Pushkar. Arrive and check into hotel. Yasmeen and Jonathan will take you for a special experience at Pushkar Lake

After breakfast, ride to Gajner. We will take highways and small
countryside roads to reach Gajner. Arrive and check into Gajner Palace. An extraordinary location of grand luxury. In the evening short ride to nearby lake. Overnight in Gajner Palace.

After breakfast we ride to Phalodi town. Going through small villages and countryside would give you a chance to see the real life of village folks in India. Arrive at Phalodi and check into your hotel. Later enjoy a heritage walking tour in Phalodi town full of old havelis. Later we go to Bawari village to enjoy a feast called “Goth” Villagers will gather to cook food using ancient recipes and firewood. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast we ride to Jaisalmer. Arrive and check into your hotel. Later visit of Patwa Haveli, Gadisar lake. Ride further to Sam Sand dunes. Arrive and check into your tented accommodation. Enjoy a camel ride at the dunes. A folk dance performance and dinner will be arranged at camp site on the dunes.

After breakfast we take an enjoyable ride through Thar Desert. Our ride will take us to ancient fort looking over ancient villages, through camel herds and flocks of goats and sheep grazing together. Nothing has changed much for generations, apart from perhaps the much loved cell phone in the hands of the young Shepard or Shepardess. We will enjoy places few western tourists went, and the bikes will give us an experience of intimacy and connection that let us connect more deeply with the people of the town, villages and cities we ride through. Overnight in a hotel in Jaisalmer city.

After breakfast, a long drive to Jodhpur, blue city. We will take national highway to reach Jodhpur. Arrive and check into your hotel. Later visit of Mehrangarh fort. Then enjoy a heritage walking tour of Old city. In the evening we will take you to a famous restaurant to enjoy dinner overlooking the fort. Overnight in Jodhpur.

On the way to Jojawar we visit the Royal enfiled Bullet baba temple. Situated on the NH-62 Jodhpur-Pali Expressway, the Om Banna Dham or Bullet Baba temple is one-of-its-kind in the world. It is believed that even today, Om Banna’s spirit rides his Royal Enfield Bullet 350 on the said highway and helps the distressed travellers. Further drive towards Jojawar. On the way a special lunch at a private mansion. We have intentionally kept this place as a secret to give you a pleasant surprise. After lunch continue drive to Jojawar.
It is a village set against a backdrop of the picturesque Aravalli Hills and
broken rocky hills interspersed with farms and scrub forests. With fertile
soils, Jojawar has long yielded ample revenue and this is the reason, many battles have been fought through history to gain control over this
agricultural region. A three-hundred year old Rajput fort, today, stands
witness to Jojawar’s history. Check into Rawla Jojawar a heritage hotel.
Evening stroll into local bazar. Overnight in Jojawar.

After breakfast, you will be driven to Phulad Railway Station for the short
train journey to Kamlighat station. Once at the station, you will see the
mechanisms and maintenance of the train as well as how the train changes directions.
This scenic train ride will pass through the ghats with views of old bridges, tunnels, and foothills of the Aravallis range. It will cut through some of the most inhospitable and untouched terrains, a picturesque journey through a relatively unexplored part of Rajasthan.
Deboard the train at Kamlighat and drive to Kumbhalgarh. Today we tackle the winding roads of the Aravallis range. The roads are superb and we cross many villages and valleys where the agricultural techniques seem to have frozen in time. We visit the fortress of Kumbhalgarh, which has the second-longest wall in the world (33 miles) after the Great Wall of China. The region is conducive to witnessing endearing country scenes.
Overnight in Kumbhalgarh.

After breakfast ride to Udaipur. On the way we will visit Sas Bahu ancient
Hindu temple. Further ride to Udaipur. Arrive and check into hotel. Later we climb to a Hill to visit Monsoon Palace. Built on top of a hill, overlooking Udaipur. Made famous by the James Bond movie Octopussy that was filmed here. The Monsoon Palace is a magnificent location and will delight the senses. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast visit of Udaipur. Enjoy a boat ride on lake Pichola. Also visit
garden of maids. Afternoon free at leisure or do last minute shopping. This is also a chance to relax and have some downtime to reflect on your journey so far.
Optional: For those who are interested will enjoy a folk dance performance in “Bagore Ki haveli” in old city. Overnight at hotel in Udaipur

Ride to Bijaipur. On the way visit the massive fort of Chittorgarh. Continue
towards Bijaipur. Castle Bijaipur is a lovely 16th century fortified castle with charming, spacious rooms- some with private sitouts, a cosy courtyard where folk musicians entertain you before dinner and a great host in RaoNarendra Singh. You can walk out into the village in perfect safety or enjoy the pool. Overnight Castle Bijaipur.

After breakfast ride back to Jaipur. Arrive and check into your hotel. Later visit of Old city and bazar. Today people celebrate burning of Holika [the evil] on the eve of Holi festival in India. Holi celebrations begin with a ritual of Holika Dahan. People gather in the neighbourhood to burn a bonfire and celebrate the triumph of good over evil. Holika Dahan is meant to burn out all the negativity and do a fresh start. Let’s burn the ostentatious ego and selfishness in the fire of Holika Dahan to make the world a better place to live. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast get ready and let’s play “Holi”. Let’s get drenched in the
enthralling beauty of natural colours and forget all the pains and worries to enjoy life.
Holi, for the Hindus signifies the arrival of spring and therefore, new
beginnings. What people, tourists and visitors to India and Nepal, and in
Hindu communities around the world see and hear are the joy, merriment, fun, laughter and music and a myriad of colours to celebrate the event. The festival is one of the most celebrated and revered events in India, where some people call it the festival of love because it’s a tradition to forget bad feelings and resentment towards other people. The celebration of Holi is fun and exciting, you should be ready to be coated in coloured powder and sprayed with coloured liquid.
Today, coloured powders are used to celebrate the event. The coloured
powder, called gulal (abeer) in Hindi, used to be made from flower and
herb extracts, especially turmeric. The vibrant colours bring positivity in the lives of people, which mean celebrating Holi is a time to rejoice. If you are participating in the celebration, prepare to be smeared and doused in coloured powder and water from water guns and water balloons.
Hindus believe that the legends associated with the celebration of Holi
make them become more truthful and observe good conduct. Holi is
socially significant, as it helps bring the Hindu and non-Hindu societies
together.
Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Transfer to Delhi airport in private vehicle. Or you can fly out of Jaipur to
your next destination.
